Boxed hot chocolate powders, while easy, are full of unnatural fillers and chemicals and nothing comes close to homemade recipes created with love. This warm, silky, vegan cocoa recipe is sweet, hot and the perfect chocolate treat for everyone. Did we mention it's only a few ingredients?

Run, don't walk to your kitchen and grab up these things:
2 cups unsweetened almond milk
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 tablespoon maple syrup, agave syrup, or coconut palm sugar
Pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon (optional)
Place all ingredients in a medium size sauce pan, adding pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon to taste, if desired. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to a simmer for 2 to 3 minutes.
Now would be a great time to throw in some vegan Dandie's marshmallows. We keep talking about them, but we're just obsessed. Sorry, not sorry. They are fantastic.
Grab your cutest little mugs, mules or cups and pass this bad boy out to all your loved ones. Can also be chilled and sprinkled with spice and topped with vegan whip topping!
